They are typically used for trail riding and you can ride it for leisure. Friesian horses are agile and swift; others are also used on the race track, show ring and for work on the bench. These horses are grouped in a couple of different ways, one being a continent or country where they originated from. Other classifications can be according to training, stock type, hunter type and saddle type. Friesian horses were originally developed in Friesland, an island off the coast of Netherlands.

Today these horses are known for their beautiful black coat and their long thick manes and tails. These horses generally have no markings, although they can still be registered if they have small spot on their fore head. Sport horses have long hair on their lower legs, which is left untrimmed. They range in height from 14.2 to 17 hands high. The sport horses are compact and muscular, with a fine head and a thick arched neck. Nowadays there two conformation types: the classic heavy type and the more modern sport horse’s type.

Friesians need a great deal of care and breeding to keep them looking their best, since they have very thick manes, tail, and not forgetting their feathers in their lower legs. You can cut the tail if it is long cut it evenly at the lowest point with enough hair to get the tail to stay thick until the very bottom.

But, sometimes there are limits. For example, when we moved into our patio home, there was a section in the property owners’ regulations about cats. The limit is two. The limit for dogs is one. Thankfully nobody asked us any cat questions when we moved in because we had four and there was no way we were giving up one of our babies.

Between my husband and me, we’ve had more than two dozen cats as pets throughout our lifetimes, so we think we know everything there is to know about cats. But how can someone really know the answers to all of the cat questions out there?

How many cats you should have definitely depends upon a variety of factors. How much space do you have? Will they be indoor or outdoor cats? How much can you afford for cat food, cat litter, and veterinarian bills? As you can see, there are a lot of cat questions to ask yourself before you fill up your house with them.

My 17 year old and 16 year old cats have passed away during the last year, so we’re now down to two cats. My husband jokes about forbidding me from going into the animal shelters because he knows I’d come home with as many cats as I could carry. I just can’t resist their adorable little furry faces!

Originally Written By 1800-Pet-Shed.Com
Mistakenly believed to have been around for centuries, the gypsy breed has in general but not Gypsy vanner breed itself. Over the last century these horses have been selectively bred but did not have a formal name, the true gypsy vanner horse is a blend derived from shires, Friesians and dales ponies. Their body should have the appearance of a smaller sized horse with the stout draft body type. Short backs coupled with well proportion to the rest of the body. Pet horse Stallions are supposed to carry themselves with bold presence and a well arched, or rainbow crest.

Their hair and feathering is amazing, it is arguably one of the most notable features of this breed. Combine this with coat patterns that makes them stand out in many minds. Its neck is slightly arched, it has level top line meaning neither the shoulders, or hindquarters rise higher than the other. There are an estimated two and three–thousand gypsy vanner horses in the United Kingdom kept as a pet horse. However, in the United States, that number drops dramatically as these animals tally only in the hundreds.

You can foal an award winning pet horse, many may choose to buy a high quality stallion. You can order semen that ships to your stallion directly. Whatever method you prefer, be sure you research all the information pertaining to cost and safety. If you have a mare from another farm brought to your farm for breeding, you will incur boarding and veterinarian services.

This horse was not speedy and wouldn’t have gone a mile in less than four miles in a minute, but he had endurance. Morgan horse was a good runner at short distances and it didn’t take him much to keep going, just like other sport horses. The horse was able to out trot and out run his competitors. Morgan horse was the best performer that ever lived. His ancestors breed was foaled in 1978, a dark bay with black points and no white, and it grew to be about 14 hands in height. It was owned by a poor teacher named Justin Morgan.

Long in body, its figure was nonetheless totally sound and without blemish, round rib and broad breasts together with short and powerful legs. He was used for rough labor needed in the development of the mountain country, and traded from time to time to pay owners debt. Like many great sport horses, he was not appreciated during his life as he should have been. He became famous as a show horse and sires reproducing his likeness.

These horses were capable of carrying weight and of covering grounds at sharp and steady gait like sports horse. This horse died in 1821 when he was 32 years old, when he was kicked by another horse. Today the Morgan is used in both ridden and sporting classes; at one time, this horse was the official horse of the United States army.

It has a natural courage, intelligence and is well disciplined for a pet horse. The Canadian sport horse is very economical, its size and strength is better suited for the rider who has some experience and is very comfortable with a fast moving horse. These horses are very light, they breeds generally weigh under 1,500 pounds. Typically used as horses for leisure and trail riding, but are more commonly used for the racetrack, in the show ring and working in the ranch.

You can group a pet horse in a couple of different ways, one being the originating country and continent. You can also group them according to training, classified as either as a hunter type, stock type or saddle type. You should take care of your pet horse to ensure Equine viral Arteritis, a viral respiratory infection, is absent in breeding population. The infected stallion will spread the disease in their semen, while the infected mares will have 50% to 70% abortion rate within thirty days of exposure.

You can obtain the breeds from available breeders, as well as solid and experienced competition horses. You can buy young horses for less than ten dollars; however remember the prices go up depending on the horses experience and talent. Hurry up and get your horse today from the nearest breeders for a fair price today.

Earlier times the extensive feathering was not popular as it is today, cob horse today are lighter weight, smaller and may not display as much feathering as the larger, heavier horse.
Like many sport horses this breed has bold and open eyes, set nicely apart, and neat ears. Not forgetting the arched neck, with high knee action and the hair which is a sight of beauty. These are type of sport horses which are friendly to other animals and human kind. The neck is compact but not too short, that is well set into the withers and the beginning of the back. Its shoulders are powerful and sloping. With the great outlook the horse is ideal for small children and pony clubs. This animal is kind and extreme versatility gives this breed great usability for either show or family. Like a sports horse it is a good bearer of weight, hardy in whatever size and this makes it a high competitor horse or a leisure horse.
It is mostly noted for quiet temperament, the strength is great and docile nature. This breed is successful in driving trail riding and dressage. Training it is very easy the reason being that it is calm and friendly to all.

We have three cats, so there are at least two kitty toys for each cat at any given time. Cats will play with just about anything, but they do have favorites among the many kitty toys that we provide them. What seem to be their favorites are the catnip toys that we’ve given them. They have catnip toys in the shapes of mice, cows, balls, and worms.

Additionally, they have several balls that they like to chase around the house. These balls are like cages with little bells inside of them. Naturally, they like to play with the noisiest toys in the middle of the night. Another “toy” they like is when we give them the ring tops off of drink bottles. For some reason, they enjoy us throwing them and they like to catch the rings in their teeth or by sticking a paw up through the ring to catch it.

Catnip toys are very popular with cats because they stimulate the cat and make it more playful. Even our older cats enjoy playing with kitty toys that contain catnip. It makes them spunky. Catnip toys are very inexpensive and you can usually buy them in packages of three, five, or ten. When thinking of buying kitty toys for your furry children this Christmas, be sure to throw in a couple of catnip toys. Your cats will love them.

We have three cats and for each cat birthday, we gather all three cats into the kitchen and open up a can of tuna and let them share it.

Next week will be our youngest child’s, I mean, cat’s birthday. He is our only male cat, he is solid gray, and he is turning six years old. We adopted him from an animal shelter when he was two years old and have loved the heck out of him for the past four years. As the youngest, he is the only one who still plays with stuffed cat toys, so we’ll probably get him a couple new fuzzy mice as presents.

He will be joined at this cat birthday party by his older sister, a fat, white, ill-tempered solid white cat, and the stray cat that recently adopted us, an approximately ten year old solid black female cat. Being an outdoor cat, she plays with real mice instead of stuffed cat toys.

Sure, it might seem silly to celebrate our cat’s birthdays, but we don’t have children, so we treat the cats as if they were kids. Plus, it’s an excuse to spoil them with tuna and special treats. No, we don’t put party hats on them and take their photographs. We just let them drink as much Cat sip as they want and eat tuna and then retire to take, what else, cat naps!

Sure, “Baby” sounds good now, but when the cat is ten years old, it’s going to resent you still calling it baby. Plus, you don’t want a boy cat with a girl cat name, like Precious. So what are some of the more popular male cat names? According to several sources, the top ten male cat names are Max, Sam, Tigger, Tiger, Sooty, Lucky, Patch, Simba, Smudge, and Smokey.

But if you’re one of those parents who wants to name their child something different, there are some unique names for kittens that include some male cat names, such as Al E. Cat, Bogie, Clooney, Daxter, and Ember.

Some people chose names for kittens based on the cat’s behavior, such as “Rascal” for a cat who was, well, quite a rascal, and “Prozac” for a cat who was, well, let’s just say more than a little bit nervous. Some people like to choose male cat names that are very masculine like Harley, Ace, Slick, and Axel.

If you’re at your wits’ end trying to come up with a name for your new loved one, all you have to do is type “cat names” into a search engine on your computer and the internet will provide you with thousands of potential names broken down into lists by gender, by funny names, by cute names, by unique names, and more.
