I dreamed of having a dog when I was a kid. This year on my birthday, my friends made me really happy, because they fulfilled my childhood dream. They gave me a Havanese puppy!
This breed of dog is considered small. Havanese dogs are very happy and devoted, and they want to be a part of the family. They easily get along with other pets. They are very social, being true companions for anyone. They don’t have a possessive or aggressive nature, which makes them very lovable.
This breed adores children and children adore them too, because they are very cheerful, playful, curious and extremely intelligent. They are very good watchdogs and will protect their family from danger and unexpected guests.
Havanese dogs are always very happy to learn something. If you have a pool it will make your little Havanese dog very happy, because they adore swimming and water sports. They have a quick wit, so they can be easily trained to perform different tricks. They are generally very obedient and agile.
Havanese dogs need to be combed at least twice a week, although you can clip its fur for easy care. It is very important to keep their eyes and ears very clean, as they are very susceptible to infections. To prevent early tooth loss, you should brush your dog’s teeth every week. These little dogs are very popular with allergy sufferers as they are odorless and low shedding.
Havanese dogs can have soft and very long hair. My dog has a curly cream coat, but they can also have straight hair, with different colors such as pure white, black, silver, or chocolate. Their coat can reach a length of six to eight inches.
My Havanese dog, Suzy, has an energetic nature. She is very active and happy and can change my mood within seconds. My little Suzy has become my best friend and I love her very much.
