Some of them are quite large, while other species grow no larger than a typical yard snake. They are eaten as food in some parts of the world, other keeps them as pets. Facts about these snakes are that: they don’t attack humans unless they are mishandled, stressed or provoked. Pythons for sale vary in size; the smallest is the ant-hill, which is 23 inches long. The largest is the reticulated python, which can grow up to 33 feet in length. These reticulated snakes can weigh up to 250 lbs. Males snakes are usually smaller than females.

Pythons are originally from Africa, Asia and Australia, mostly found in tropical and subtropical climates in rain forests, deserts and savanna. They live on the grounds or in trees. The larger ones always stay in the ground and can climb to trees if they need to. Additionally they spend a lot of time in water, they are expert in swimmers.

Pythons for sale eat lizards, rodents, fish, birds and mammals. Those large ones may prey on sheep, pigs, goats, deer and crocodiles. Others need only yearly amount of food that is equal to their own weight.

All the species of snakes never give birth to live young, including pythons for sale they all lay eggs. Female can lay up to 100 eggs at a time. The eggs are wrapped by her body around them for warmth and protection from predators. After the eggs hatch the mother leaves, and babies fend for themselves.

These animals are quiet comfortable on the ground and in trees. They are known as’’ balls’’ in the United States due to their habits of curling themselves up into a tight ball when they are nervous, their heads pulled firmly into the centre. Like other pythons, they are gentle and curious snakes. They typically reach 4 feet in length. When they are properly fed, their body is nicely rounded and strong.

These snakes, like all pythons and boas, devour a variety of prey in the wild- lizards, amphibians, and birds. They don’t feed on mice in the wild; however they will not recognize the mice you can offer them as something edible. These reptiles can go for period of time without food: wild caught ball pythons can stay one year or more without food until finally enticed to eat small snakes and lizards.

They are killed for food and their skin is used for leather in their native land. This makes them to be expensive in the market, generally wholesaling for under ten dollars. It grows about a foot a year in captivity during first three years. They reach sexual maturity in three to five years; the longest living ball python on record was over 48 years old when it died. Females encircle their four to ten eggs, remaining with them from the time they are laid until they hatch.

In this last post I am not going to tell you how to train your puppy, cat or parrot birds. Take your dog toys and go to the park with your four legged friend and run, play until you get tired. Believe this is the tiredness you and your pet have dreamed about. Just be crazy, let the animal instinct wake inside you, as New Year is the time when you can do everything.

Begin this New Year in a very special way with your friends, family and, of course, four legged friends!

Originally Written By 1800-Pet-Shed.Com
If you want to own a snake for the first time, you should start your experience with a ball python.

Ball pythons (or Python regius, royal pythons), are from three to four feet in length. They got the name “ball python,” due to the fact that they roll themselves into a ball when they are frightened or are very nervous. They are also likely to hiss loudly when they are intimidated.

Ball pythons live from 20 to 30 years; however, some can live up to 50 years.

Pythons are usually black, though on their skin you will also see different shades of brown, which give them a very royal look.

They are small in size, and you will be able to take them in your hands easily. By the way, adult pythons don’t bite.

Ball pythons should be kept in special conditions and be fed by certain food. So how do you take proper care of your new ball python?

Since they’re relatively short, a 10 or 20 gallon tank will be enough for younger pythons, though adults need a larger tank – up to 30 gallons.

The top of the tank should be safely equipped, as they like to escape. And also don’t forget about a dark hiding place for your snake.

You should also provide your new ball python with something to soak in for its humidity.

Young ball pythons should be fed every fifth or seventh day, and adult ones should eat every 10 to 14 days (the food amount for adults should be larger). They may be fed killed mice or rats — if alive, they may cause harm to your ball python. When they are fed well, they will have a nice round shape.

Ball pythons will definitely be nice and extraordinary pets for you. Just take care that your pet doesn’t feel uneasy with his/her new environment.

The python is a non-venomous snake which is mainly found in Australia, Africa and Asia.

The most interesting fact about pythons is that they sense the odor of their prey at a distance. They suddenly attack the prey, swallow it, and it thereby dies from suffocation.

The size of python snakes ranges from 3 to 33 feet, and they can weigh up to 300 pounds. Large pythons can eat even pigs and it would take seven days to digest one. Smaller pythons eat mice and rats.

Pythons can survive quite well in both dry and wet conditions. These snakes also have the ability to swim and climb trees.

Python snakes would rarely hurt people if not provoked by them. A female python is very aggressive when defending her eggs and in such a situation it’s likely that she would attack. So be extremely careful.

There are a lot of species of python snakes and the most common type of pet is a ball python. The name “ball” sounds a bit funny, but that’s because they roll up and tuck their heads. Ball pythons are also known as King or Royal pythons.

Ball pythons are very distinctive, usually black with yellow markings, but are also found in many other colors.

As with any other pet, a python snake needs proper care–suitable housing, clean water and the right diet.

Housing. A 10-20 gallon tank will suit your small active snake.

Water. When shedding starts some snakes soak in water so you should provide your pet python with a large water dish and change the water regularly to keep it fresh.

Feeding. Your pet python would be glad to eat mice and rats, which can be found in pet stores.

Besides feeding and caring about the comfort of your python, you should give your love and attention to it. They will certainly enjoy frequent handling and petting.

Originally Written By 1800-Pet-Shed.Com
Snakes are pets that are most fond of escaping from their enclosures and hiding in different gaps. So, if you have a pet snake you should always be prepared for a circumstantial and detailed snake hunt.

Pet snakes mostly escape at night, when it is dark in the house, and all around are sleeping. If there’s even a very thin gap in the cage, they almost always manage to escape.

While looking for your snake take into account the thing that the pet can be in every possible corner and in every tiny box. So, take a flashlight, a mirror and a yardstick and start checking everywhere: in and between the kitchen appliances, under and in the beds, under the rugs and furniture, in all the boxes, in all the bookcases and in every bag and basket.

During all this time keep the lid of his cage open. He may return to his enclosure, realizing that there’s no place like home. However, that doesn’t mean that you must sit and wait for the snake to appear.

Take some flour and sprinkle it in every doorway. In the morning you will see whether it has changed its hiding place or not. If it doesn’t help either, get a small box, put a new, preyed mouse in it and put it near its cage. By the way, make some holes on the box for the snake to smell the meal. In most cases, the snake doesn’t resist the temptation of having a great snack.

After all the efforts you make trying to find it, you’ll never again put it in the same cage, right? So, in order to avoid all this, buy a cage that has no gaps and is safe.
